    Silencerco Scythe TI review

I have had my Scythe TI for a few weeks now. I have only run it on my bolt 300blk and bolt 6.5 Grendel. Both have been a delight to shoot with the Scythe on them. Its also surprising the difference just a few ounces at the end of the barrel makes to the overall balance. The Scythe TI on my...

Having a tough time with Weatherby Backcountry 2.0 Ti in .280 Ackley...

Fair, I have found manufactures have more problem eliminating this in pencil thin barrels than heavy barrels. Though I suppose that could also be a function of the number of shots needed to heat up the barrel. But agreed, root cause is poor stress relief. Id say Weatherby waiting 3-5 minutes...

When did the definition of lightweight scopes change?

Not meaning to be rude, but I can't think of a single time I have needed to shoot any of my rifles in a fashion that had the scope wedged so as to deflect it or had any weight beyond its own self on it. If you are going to market things via test in this highly competitive industry, you kind of...

When did the definition of lightweight scopes change?

Prefering a heavier rifle because it gives you confidence is perfectly fine. Nothing wrong with that. I believe confidence is a huge thing in making that first shot count. I have enough rounds and miles on my ultralights that I trust them every bit as much as my old 700 that weighs a couple...

    Shooting a lightweight rifle well

I find its very much a setup and design thing. My backcountry ti in 280ai is so pleasant to shoot in its current form it has become my primary rifle for anything 500yds and under unless Im out popping prarie dogs or punching paper. That said a buddy of mine has a 7mm rem mag ruger that is about...

Archery Range Games To Play With Your Friends

Used to hang dollar bills from fishing string and shoot broadheads at the strings, whoever cuts the string gets the dollar. Higher the dollar value the further the distance.

    Help me pick a cartridge

If you want something really unique, purchase a 308 bolt face short action and make a 45 raptor bolt gun.

    What bow is everyone shooting?

I got back into archery earlier this year. Picked up a 2022 Hoyt Carbon Twin Turbo on a last years bow sale locally. Last bow was a bear mauler, before that a bear whitetail II. I thought the upgrade from the 1980s whitetail ii to the bear mauler was incredible, but I am equally blown away at...

Five Pin Sight Suggestions for Hoyt RX-7

If you give up the picatinny rail requirement, IQ Micro 5 sight. I like having a larger peep to be able to see more, which induces the possibility of error as you cant use the housing as precisely, but with the retina feature on this site setup correctly, I am able to keep shots in the vitals...

    Stupidity...... Can this be fixed?

Call prime tomorrow, see if they can overnight you a new cam and cable or string whatever goes through the chewed up area. If you don't have a press, take the parts to a local archery shop and pay a few bucks to have them swap it out. Easy repair if you can get the parts in time.

Having a tough time with Weatherby Backcountry 2.0 Ti in .280 Ackley...

Also, if you are open to trying another round, the Hornady ELD ammo is suddenly commonly available. Could buy a box, give it another go. Take your time. Literally bring another rifle to use between shots. Let the rifle cool completely between shots. Perhaps yours stringing is much the same as...

When did the definition of lightweight scopes change?

I don't know that its scope manufactures aren't trying hard enough, any more the industry demands so much crap on a scope its no wonder basic FFP scopes weigh 24oz+. By the time you put a 30+mm tube on the scope, giant objective lens, great big dial turrets large enough to have clear markings...

Anyone carry their rifle in hand while hunting in the mountains?

I use a boonie/safari sling so it takes almost nothing to go from being in the sling to shouldered and ready to fire. Not such a big deal here out west, but it was a game changer for younger me hunting whitetail back in missouri.
