37-9 took 7+ in 2022 according to to wyoming website. I expect all things whoming are only going to rise, which is why I'm done earning points for 10 years. I'm going to burn them then earn enough for general units from here on out. Having a cabin at the foot of Medicine Bow in Centennial...
Disregard my original post. I see now that I'm in the wrong and will change my ways or see my way out. I originally thought this was a place for information. I was clearly in the wrong.
Hey guys. I think at 10 points I could draw one of the Bighorn Mountain units, 36,37,38 etc. 2 things....Any advice on a unit and does anybody have recommendations for a drop camp style outfitter in that area?
Ok, maybe 3 things. Is there a better option with 10 points?
Had a bit a success in unit 46 in Wyoming. The weather was great for a late October hunt. The goats were plentiful. I kinda half ass scouted and hunted day one and shot this 72" goat on day 2.
not sure why picture is upside down
Hey folks, I'm in the planning stages of a 2019 Colorado mule deer hunt. I'd like to find a respectable mulie in velvet in August or early September. It would likely be me and 3-4 friends. I think we would prefer a high country drop camp via outfitter due to us being 20 hours away. I guess...
Thanks for the info fellas. I applied and got the permission slip for Medicine Bow River HMA last week. It's about 23000 acres. Looks like I'll be going earlier than originally expected, so maybe 2nd week of October. I guess the question now is what is the trophy potential? Should I be...
Hey fellas. I won't bore you with the long story but I had grander plans so I went ahead and cashed in my 4 points in Wyoming and drew 46. I've got some local help as my folks live in Cheyenne and centennial (vacation place). They know a few people that are willing to help.
Anyhow, I'd like...
Anybody hunted with or have info on Rick Sample Temple in the bitteroot area? We are looking at a semi guided hunt or 2x1 guided hunt woth decent trophy potential. Open to suggestions but ive been in contact with Rick. Prices seem reasonable but you never know. Thanks in advance, fellas.
rklein,
I'm a taxidermist in central KY so I can't offer much help with a local guy but can give you some info.
first and foremost, keep the cape dry and get it cool ASAP.
DO NOT handle the antlers or you will lose the velvet. By that I mean don't drag or hang the deer by the antlers. The...
Also, I didn't post that for any another reason than to eliminate suggestions of other brands. We don't sell a lot of top end optics and I've been happy with the vortex stuff I have.
Its pretty well common knowledge that as an employee of a sporting goods retailer, we get discounts and 3point5. Our discount in the store isn't great and many of the benefits through 3point5 are better than than store discounts. I'm not sure why either would be upset. If they were, I'm sure...
As I work for a retailer part-time, I get a pretty hefty discount on Vortex (50-60% off)
I need to upgraded my binos and I also need to get into a spotting scope. Now I have a few questions.
Binos: Should I spend the extra money here or on the spotter? (Vipers vs Razors)
Spotting scope...
Hey fellas, I've lurked long enough. While in a constant state of planning, I always find myself back here. So, why not join?
Anyhow, 40 year old full time taxidermist from central KY. No western hunting under my belt. Next three trips I'm planning are elk, mulie, and a mountain lion. Im...
