    Mountain Vehicle Toyota or Jeep

Yo Aron - Jeep Gladiator FTW? Breakover angle and wheelbase not great. Other than those compromises better than both a Taco or Wrangler for hunters like us IMHO.

    Kimber Adirondack Owners

Anyone run the Hornady 178gr Precision Hunters through this rifle? I'm interested in accuracy results and muzzle velocity with that load. Also, has anyone noticed any difference in muzzle velocity with or without the factory muzzle brake installed? I'm wondering how much length it adds to...

Jason Hairston of KUIU passed away today

Very sad news and thoughts of grief for the entire Kuiu family. The comments thus far display the highest levels of class and decency. I tip my hat to all of you.

Nikon Monarch HG 10x42 Review, By Matt Cashell

Thanks for the review Matt. Can you explain the components/setup of your bino harness and pistol system in your title photo please? What are the pros and cons based on your experience? I have searched far and wide and haven't seen a system that appears as well thought out as yours with...

Any updates on Vortex Viper Spotter from Amazon

That was the first approval request I received. I was expecting to receive the confirm at 30 days like everyone else, but never got it. I agree that for Amazon to come forward after all this time with an "oops" or a "sorry we can't deliver" would be in extremely poor taste.

Any updates on Vortex Viper Spotter from Amazon

My account says nothing regarding a ship date either. It was an estimate provided when asking for approval to confirm the order as a click through to Amazons site. It seems everybody else got the same email except with a 5/11 estimate for shipping about a month ago.

Any updates on Vortex Viper Spotter from Amazon

An email just materialized from the interwebs requesting approval to continue with my order. The new ship date? June 10, 2018

Any updates on Vortex Viper Spotter from Amazon

Funny I placed my order on 3/13 as well, but did NOT receive the email others have discussed. Anyone else in my camp?

    Rtic coolers

This was a helpful comment. Is there anything specific you could share comparing the RTIC to the Siberian? I'm looking at both options and was recently turned on to the Siberian after watching a video posted by Coolers On Sale.

Any updates on Vortex Viper Spotter from Amazon

X10 - Nothing yet...I've seen Amazon not fulfill an order in a situation similar to this. I believe they offered a $10 credit on my next order. Worth the shot and many thanks for posting.

    The Best Gaiters

I've got the OR Expedition Crocs in Multicam and they are pretty loud. I contacted the good folks at OR to ask if they could suggest some sort of breathable coating that would quiet them down. They couldn't recommend anything to me for the 1000D Cordura. Any ideas out there on how to quiet...

    What Tripod Head?

Screamrider - Looking at getting your exact same setup. Did you buy a separate quick release adapter to get the micro head to fit the XC525C? It looks like the top of the micro pan head can be removed and screwed onto the XC525C. This might mean that you can't use their binocular adapter however.

KIFARU TUT PYRAMID - How bad ass is it?

Hey Aron - This is pure armchair speculation, so feel free to lay the smackdown, but I would guess that those vertical sidewalls should shed snow loads better than traditional style tipis. Can you share the results of any testing you've done or how you think the TUT compares to say a Hilleberg...

KIFARU TUT PYRAMID - How bad ass is it?

The wind resistance is a definite limitation as stated by BIGHORN, Aron, and that High Lord of Wind and Storm himself Luke Moffat. Would a lower pitch using a single trekking pole mitigate this issue or would the excess fabric make it a wash even with the spider web of guylines? Appreciate any...

KIFARU TUT PYRAMID - How bad ass is it?

Aron was appropriate and direct in his response relating the balancing act he’s trying to pull off. The Tut is HIS design and he’d be a fool to release it without a high level of confidence. The man may have been a meat-head, but he isn’t a fool. He is wise to avoid Patrick’s wrath...

KIFARU TUT PYRAMID - How bad ass is it?

So I was about to hit the buy button on a Sawtooth mainly for its height and durability. From the helpful posts in this forum, it appears that its weight difference with the SO Cimarron is much smaller than the stated 8 ounces if you're willing to be creative. Now this new shelter has surfaced...

    Rokslide Backcountry Kill Kit

If this has been explained elsewhere my apologies in advance. If the Kifaru meat baggie isn't waterproof, how will it keep blood out of my pack? Why not use a garbage bag or dry sack that doesn't need seam sealing? Lastly, isn't the meat best drained of blood when hung inside a game bag that...

    Solo Heated Shelter?

Thanks Jarrod - I know you run taller so you can't stand (I'm 5'9"), but how high can the LBO be pitched and still provide adequate square footage and still seal around the edges in a winter setup? Also, how do you go about drying your gear inside the LBO. The sawtooth 204 has includes alot...

    Solo Heated Shelter?

204 I feel your pain. It doesn't seem like there are really any alternatives that don't involve compromise. The only shelter I'm aware of that would have interested me is the SO BCS2 which is no longer in production apparently. Luke and others have posted that the Cimarron is about 8 ounces...

Backpack Month: Paradox Pack Review by Jared Lampton

Thanks for the review. I can't decide between the 4800 and the 6300. The goal would be to have the ability to pack out a boned out muley + gear in one trip. As a day pack, I would want it to carry as sleek as possible. I think Kevin mentioned that both size packs compress to roughly equal...
