No more 2024 Nebraska spring turkey hunting permits are available to nonresidents. The quota of 10,000 permits was met Jan. 25, 2024.

I kept checking once in a while trying to decide if I wanted to buy a second one, but ultimately decided to just stick with the 1 I have. Seems like just a few days ago there were 1100 left?

I think last year they didn't sell out until mid March?

Yeah, March 24th last year. Only took a couple weeks this year.

Universally every nonresident OTC with caps sells out sooner every year. It doesn’t matter which state or species it is.

I’m sure Kansas going to NR draw this year pushed some guys into Nebraska. They certainly pull from a similar audience. They are neighboring states, have similar season structure and dates and the cost is roughly equal.

It’s a shame, in the last decade I’ve watched Nebraska go from a sleeper state to a known great option and then watched deer and turkey populations collapse with the NR’s taking the biggest hit.
