Myself and a couple of buddies are planning a trip out once tags go on sale in August.
We've looked at unit 12 and from doing research I know there are going to be a lot of hunters but it also looks as though there will be a mix of truck hunters and some use of horseback hunters.
Is there anyway to get away from the "crowd" - we're willing to put in the extra miles if we need to get away from pressure or is it even worth it to put in those miles and hunt closer to the truck assuming we find good fortune?
Is calling something to consider during this time? Best to glass and stalk or run and gun?
Are there other units for public land that offer decent success rate during this 2nd season?
