338 lapua imp

I just came across a benchmark SS barrel 1-8twist. what is your thoughts on that twist for a 338 lapua imp , might have it +P not sure on that yet. Is that to fast of a twist for the. With a 300gr berger? I think it would be ok but i honestly have no clue i was looking for a 1-9 but this one is in stock

This will be a very personal decision. You don't need an 8 or 9 twist for 300s. 10 is fine.

Yeah i understand that. Thats just what they have in stock and i would not have to order a barrel and wait. If the 1-8t would be ok

Only get the 8 if you plan to shoot the heaviest of solids. 10tw works with 300gr Berger and sierra bullets. 9.3-9.5 is easier to find. My 338rum is 9.3tw and shoots very well with 300gr elite hunters.
