Best 243 bullet for deer hunting?

Federal Fusion 95gr has been great out of my Browning A-Bolt. 3 for 3 since I switched to it from Winchester Core-Lokts (which worked fine too). Its plenty of punch for whitetails with halfway decent shot placement.

Between my 3 boys and me, we've killed a pile of them with 100 grain Nosler partitions out of a .243.

After reading some post I wonder why guys keep recommending Hornady when the op specifically said federal .....now I think like a few of the guys also recommend the 85 grain tsx or any of the bonded core soft points should be great as long as they shoot well for you.

My kids shot a savage axis .243 for their first deer. I found the blue box federal soft points to work best in the gun and it never failed me on a well placed shot. This is for Texas deer, doe and buck sized.
I wouldn’t get caught up on buying a certain kind of ammo for your gun, buy a bunch of boxes and see what the gun shoots best. Having confidence in the weapon and ammo combo is more important than saving some
Money on ammo that doesn’t shoot for squat in your gun. Expensive paperweight is what I call that...

Stay away from the ballistic tips. Stick with bonded.

Ballistic tips in 243 are basically varmit rounds. You hit the shoulder bone, you may not get into the vitals.

The Steve that wrote that is not me but some nationally published gun writer. I’ve heard this about the 95g 243 Ballistic Tip not the Accubond. 999FD0B5-20F5-4D55-A6DC-3D50F9029B04.jpeg4DEEFFA3-2736-42EE-93FE-B3F39938F2E7.png
