I’m scheduled to go this September taking my 300 prc haven’t decided exactly what bullet yet but my choices so far are:

Berger 215h
200 accubond
212 eldx

I’d like to find some 210 lrab
Put any of those in the right place, and they will hammer an Aoudad. They are tough, but not bullet proof. Shoot them through the shoulders

Yeah they’re not bulletproof, but gotta break them down quickly with a high energy @ distance rifle & bullet combo
257 Roy, 6.5 prc 264 wm , 270 , 7mm , 300 wm - 300prc

look @ how big and ruggedly built they are so pack accordingly and break bones EDBB3F82-F1D4-4E3D-AC24-D815B62FDFC3.jpegC3D8C921-29AD-4D17-8A6D-7AAB726AFB70.jpegD3AD81C8-E4C6-4740-B0EA-43E03463B19E.jpeg

A 200 grain partition out of a .300 mag of any sort would be excellent. If possible shoot them high through the shoulders.
That’s what it’s going to be. 200g partition behind a max load of h4831 out of my 26” barreled Kimber mountain ascent.

good combo, they can be pretty edgy depending on pressure. Not to many non-recoverable places in TX or NM but sure helps to high shoulder and drop

A buddy and I have taken 4 with 6.5CM factory ELD-X cartridges, 3 near 600yds. Bullet placement will do it.

.270 130 grain sierra game kings have dumped a number of them for me and my family. I’ve shot several through both lungs and they just acted like nothing happened, walked off about 100 yards, laid down and finally died 20-30 min later. Now I just shoot them square in the shoulder so they can’t go anywhere.

Remington core-lokt deadliest mushrooms in the woods.

I'm not a Remington fan after a few bad rifles, but yes, corelokt are accurate in all my rifles. They just shoot well.

Aoudad are not hard to kill. 1 shot from my 6.5CM, he went down. 140gr. He walked 10 feet, then sat down like a squat. Didn't fall over, just sat down to rest. I don't see why people worry about this stuff.

I am glad someone brought this subject up about what bullets to use for aoudads. I have a hunt planned for March of 2024, my first aouidad hunt, and my outfitter said to use a Barnes type bullet, Accubonds and to stay away from Bergers. The Accubond, the orginals or Longrange, are really hard to find right now. So I have been working up loads with Barnes 190 LRX and also working with Hornady 190 CX in my 300 PRC. Wish I could find some 200 or 208 Barnes LRX's.

I hear that these animals are tough to kill. And I know shot placement is key. Keep this thread going.

From these answers sounds like anything will work. Anyone have any bullets they WOULD NOT recommend? I.e. had good shot placement but didn't go down quick or not recovered?
