GPS issues using magnetic closure bino harness

Has anyone had issues using their handheld gps units close to their bino harness that has a magnetic closure?? I and my buddy had our GPS go wacko and we were unable to lock in waypoints and a true bearing. His happened in one unit and mine was 100 miles away! Any thoughts?

Nope. If I hold my phone right next to my harness the compass might be off but if I hold it at arms length then no issues. Pretty easy to test it at home. Try it both ways and let us know what you find out.

I know of a mountain in New Mexico that people’s GPS would routinely go crazy on. This was not a one of thing. It happened to me on multiple occasions and I heard lots of stories. I use a magnetic bino harness and have not had any issues with gps. It will affect my compass if I hold it to close.

The way some of these bino holders keep getting bigger and bulkier, arm’s reach ain’t what it use to be.
