Great Basin National Park

I’m in Ely right now. Was wondering if it’s worth seeing and what to check out while there. My son is with me and wants to take some photos. Thanks in advance.

Yes, check it out. Go to Lehman Caves as well.

The Bristlecone pines below Wheeler Peak are worth seeing. I assume that the road to the top is closed for the season now though so it'd be a hike.

I agree with the folks above. If you have the time might as well see it. I’ve done a lot of wetland work in Snake Valley over the years and enjoy that part of the west desert. If you’re not familiar with the area, it’s very remote. Amenities are only available at the Border Inn and in Baker. Depending on your time, there’s some cool hikes in the Snake range and Deep Creeks. Good tires are highly recommended if you adventure off the paved roads.
