Holy crap I don't think I've ever been in a storm like this before! Thunder for two hours strait now. Probably got 2 inches of rain in about 45 min before it turned to hail. Rain put my fire out in like 5 min! And it was a big fire, half under a tarp. God thing these neo airs float. May be the only way I male it through. Wish me luck , hope I don't get hit by lightning

Yeah it's pretty nasty out there from what I've heard! Hope you're hunkered up pretty good. I'd be curious to see how Justin's floorless shelter works in flash flood conditions! :) good luck guys I'll be chasing muleys in sage ground this weekend!

Well on positive note the storm ending around Friday eve should get the elks talking thru the weekend!
Thanks for the updates

Just did a four day hunt and had rain three of them. Got caught packing elk meat out in the worst rain-lightning storm I've seen in along time. Good luck all.

Ken,
I just take everything I "think I need" and toss it out! JK

I actually have a few none essentials in my pack for this trip.

I don't carry a spotter for this elk spot, so that helps a lot. I also only carry one full water bottle because I can get water as I hike if I need to. Remember too that my shelter and sleep system are under three lbs. total.

My current Timberline 1 pack hasn't been "cut" yet but when I get my new one in a couple weeks, I'll be cutting about a pound off of it.

Well, hope you guys get something. My hunt ended before it started. Just found out the road washed out. Maybe I'll be going fishing this weekend.

Just now letting up. Man what a storm last night, crazy. Been sitting under a tap by a fire all day. Think I'll get dressed now, the elk should be out early tonight. I doubt they liked the storm any more than I did

You should see this camp, there's no way I'm moving from here

Post your GPS coordinates so we can all see it.:) Seriously, hope the weather straightens out and you guys have some great hunting.
