Here’s my open light set up.
Xlr element folding chassis
Lone peak fuzion
24” proof 6.5 creed
SRS brake
MDT ckye lightweight bipod

140 eldms at 2760

Last year I used a titanium action and was able to still make weight with a double pull bipod and 2 side weights. This year I swapped to a steel fuzion action and am going to need to trim 2 or 3 ounces if I want to make light class with the weights (gamer problems?) I may take off the folder or just run no weights but having the weights up front make the balance soo nice.

Used the NF NX8 milxt all year last year. Tried the maven rs1.2 for a 1 day match and didn’t love it. Great for hunting but on some real small targets it’s nice to have .2 mil reference points so I’ll go back to NF.

What made you switch from the Mark 5 to the trijicon
I had been looking to get a smaller/lighter scope for a while. And was pretty set on getting the mk5 3-18.

Then I found the drop evals here and saw that mk5's maybe weren't as top shelf as I thought they were.

Then the Temiles went on sale last fall like crazy. So I bought one.

Having compared this Tenmile directly to a mk5 3-18 I have no regrets (but do wish reticle was less awful)

This will be my first year shooting NRL. I built a 6.5PRC and will be sending factory 147ELDM. I will not be competing, just using it as practice this year. Because of that, I plan on using the same rifle, ammo, optics, and tripod that I actually hunt with. Should be fun!

I shot the 2024 Snake River NRL hunter with my Seekins Hit 6.5 CM which is also my PRS gun. Had an absolute blast. I was just in skills stage for my first Hunter but definitely interested in doing more. I'd like to compete in the open light which the HIT can't do and so was thinking about building a 6.5cm on a chassis that I could then add weight to in order to be my PRS gun as well.

My priority would be as an NRL hunter gun but having dual purpose would be nice. Anyone have experience running one gun both?

The element 4 or the HNT26 look like good options, but I don't know how much weight I could add to em.

Open light is a 12# weight limit isn't it? Most PRS guns are 19# or more. That seems like a big weight difference to account for with only the chassis.

@JohnJohnson - yeah, that's my concern. I know a barrel swap out plus some weights could get me close to that. But just adding weight to the chassis might leave me pretty short. I've shot a couple PRS with my HIT at about 15 lbs, so even if I got back to there, that would be great.

Element would be your best bet I think. @XLR could probably chime in with his thoughts but you can add a substantial amount of weight to them between the m-lok on the side and internal weights. The butt stock would be the tough choice. The carbon would make it easy to make light class with, but can't add weight to. The c-6 can take a ton of weight but may be too much weight for light class and make your gun butt heavy.

On just the chassis block you can add 3 lbs to a Remington 700 SA Element. That doesn't include adding weights to the buttstock or changing the buttstock to one of our heavier options. Most guys who shoot open light run the Element 4.0 Magnesium with the Carbon grip and carbon buttstock. This chassis weighs 28-33 oz depending on whether or not you run the folder. That same chassis can weigh 7 lbs with the TR-2 buttstock, mercury recoil reducer, TR-2 Main weights, internal forend weights, and 2 sets of M Lok side weights. I would recommend looking at our weight calculator to see the different weight options you can achieve.
