Put this rifle together on a savage lightweight hunter I had in the safe. It shot very well as a 6.5 creed and hoping it continues as a 284. A good friend of mine( who happens to be an excellent gunsmith) chambered and mounted the barrel. Should be under 7 pounds all in with scope. 586794CB-BF3D-4501-B126-BFB9356CA3E2.jpeg

Got the scope mounted yesterday and put an initial barrel break in load together. 162 gr. Hornady sst's over 55gr of 4831sc. Took four rounds to get from bore site to 100 yards . Let it cool and then shot 4 more. Let it cool then shot 4 more. The tight cluster four shot group at the top was my last 4 shots. I know the gun has potential! 43BEBB1F-ACEA-4213-B694-9D0B6A90DC70.jpeg

Can seat them out to just under 3.0" so I might not be able to use the heavies real efficiently but for the longer range stuff out west I'll probably use something in the 150gr range

tempImagekfkWn9.jpgSuper Nice rifle build you have. Love the 284win and just built this rifle as my light weight hunting ring. this is a Howa 1500 SA with a 24" 1-8.5 twist proof research sendeo CF barrel. Its in as Stockystocks CF stock and topped with a Leupold MK5-HD. Total weight is 9lbs 3 ounces. Im running 162gr eldm's at 2950 with Lapua 284win brass 50gr of H4350 and CAOL of 2.950" I'm running them in ARC mags with great success.

I have a YouTube Chanel,
, where I've covered one of my other 284win builds, ill do a video on this rifle in the next few weeks.
