Lost Photo's, Corrupt SD Cards

Just got back from a family vacation out west and had an SD card get corrupted and lost several hundred pictures and about 10 minutes of video. I did a few minutes of searching youtube to find a video on recovery, downloaded the program, and was able to recover everything pretty easily. Just throwing this out there as a PSA, if you ever run into that situation pull the card and quite using it, do the youtube thing find a program your comfortable with sit back and let it work. The program I used was Photorec, but there seem to be quite a few options out there and maybe someone else is familiar with others that work well. Hopefully this helps someone.

It happens. Glad you got them recovered. I've never lost everything, but have had some cards go 50% and others that I could get it all off of.

Each program works a little differently, so if one doesn't get it all, try another. There are several ones that are free, or have a free trial.

Good reminder for us.
