Since you are enjoying playing at long range ,get the 6.5 Creed. I recommend a Tikka CTR.

I have a 7-08 that has thousands of rounds thru it. Thinking about re-barreling to .308 win. Recoil is virtually the same, ballistics are so close. Factory ammo is much more common.

This will be a factory rifle. I honestly have no interest in the creedmore...that said, 7-08 or 6.5x55? Also is the barret fieldcraft worth the extra money over the tikka? I do like shorter barrels

Its it’s just a cartridge. You don’t like recoil, you want long range ability, and in a factory rifle.... exactly why are you dismissing the cartridge that was designed exactly for your purpose?

As for rifles: if you want a general purpose light hunting and shooting rifle- the Tikka. If you want a dedicated mountain rifle- the Barret. Those are the only two I would be looking at.
