Nightforce nxs 2.5-10 broken illumination

I have a nxs 2.5-10 that I have been using for a little over a year and a half, today I took my rifle out and noticed that the illumination turns itself on while I’m shooting, so I took off the cap that protects the battery/internals and put it back on, next thing I know the illumination turns of if I press the button with even the slightest bit of pressure, I have no idea whats wrong with it but figured I’d post on here before dealing with taking it off of the rifle and sending it in to Nightforce

I gave that a shot, same issue

It's a good time of the year to send something back for repair. Considering hunting season is this fall.

IME they give you a worst case scenario for estimated repair/order ready time. It's usually much faster.
