Won’t post specific unit stuff. Looking for tips and tricks for late season (January) Archery.

I understand glassing is going to be key, will hopefully have others to assist with covering ground and glassing more areas.

I think my biggest concern for late season is going to be the actual stalking. Honestly a mule deer novice so any suggestions are welcome.

Looking to be DIY also, don’t have the funds or really want for a guide.

I've never done the late season hunt but I have to think finding the girls would be job 1.

Stalking and or setting up for ambush points.

What's the terrain of your unit, open desert, hills or mountains?

In for the experienced answers and best of luck to ya.

That’s another tip I’ve heard is inventorying the does and checking them daily. Sounds like it will be in the rut.

Terrain is those rolling hills, open desert and scrub brush. Some more “terrain” in parts of the unit but the majority is that classic NM high desert.
