Seriously speaking, it's too low for me. Once I have a load of meat I want that meat/pack a bit higher than top of my head. I want to use those load lifters to their full potential. Empty with 20# or less for all day hunts I still want it 4" higher than yours. -- That's still low enough to duck tree branches & brush so as not to get hung up!
Notice with a load 90# on my EXO 3500 Pack -- The pack is even with cap, my load lifters are keeping most weight off my shoulders, works great for me!
Thanks Paul, I’ll adjust it up a little more. There is still quite a bit of pack left. It’s a 5500. It’s just compressed down on top. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.
The middle of the hip belt should align with the top of your hip bone. Also, what the previous poster said about the load lifters being close to 45 degrees is correct.
The placement of the little clips on the load lifters are generally supposed to be near your collar bone. Go to youtube and watch Snyders video on how to properly adjust a pack and it will make more sense.
To put a pack on correctly lossen everything, tighten hip belt first, pull shoulder straps until pack touches back at shoulder blades, pull load lifters. If its adjusted properly you should be really comfortable.
