Question about Idaho OTC mule deer

What’s the best unit? Lol just kidding

Really though I’m Planning on heading to Idaho for a mule deer hunt next year. Just wondering if when I buy an OTC tag is that for certain hunt areas or the whole state?

It should be for any open unit. You don't have to buy a unit specific tag. Not every unit is open and sometimes they have different opening and closures dates. Some of the state has units that are short range only along with other restrictions. But if you buy a General Deer tag is is good for both mule deer and whitetail. I'm new to Idaho and it is a little more confusing than some states but if you pull up the regs online they have it broke down pretty good and you can look at individual species. You will have the option of buying a general deer tag or whitetail only. Again General will let you harvest either mule or whitetail as long as the unit are in specifies that in the regs.
