Remington 700 barrel twist question

I’m trying to put together a practice rifle. My son has a 700 ADL in .223 that he won at a DU dinner back in 2006, that he’s loaning me. It’s pretty rough, probably never been broke down and cleaned or anything. Figured I’d go through it and then upgrade the scope and rings with stuff I’ve got laying around. The barrel needs free floated and the trigger is gritty as all get out, so that will be addressed. I’m curious about twist, but couldn’t find anything stamped on it. I did the cleaning rod test 4 times and it came back at 1:12 each time. That doesn’t seem right…or is it?
Anyone have information on twist for that era .223?

I have a 223 from around 2006 that's 1:12. I free floated the barrel and putting a trigger tech in it. It'll put 40gr vmax into .75 inch groups at 100yds.

Good to know. I’ll get a trigger in it and free float it, plus my scope and rings…that’ll be just about the time my kid wants it back 😂
