Just bought a new sidearm to take to Alaska on my Caribou hunt. It was $689 on sale for $589 with a $100 mail in rebate. So for $489 I got a new 10mm. I thought that was a really good deal. Now I need to put a bunch of rounds through it and get competent with it. Should I get a red dot reflex sight for it?

I also picked one up last week.. the 4.6” model. I put 100 rounds through it so far and it shoots excellent. I shoot it far better than I do with my glocks. I need to get some reloading components for it and hit the range more. This one will accompany me to Montana in the fall on an elk hunt.

For bears, no.

That gun is for up close and personal work. You won’t see the red dot with a bear charging you. Get good night sights and a light and call it good.

No red dot sight. If you want to upgrade from factory, put an XS big dot on.
