I just teceived my Scarpa Kinesis boots today. With a pair of thin ankle socks, they fit about perfect.

I am worried if I keep them, they won't break in enough to fit some thicker socks in them.

For those that own these boots, do they break in enough to fit a thicker pair of socks? Should I send these back and get a bigger size?

not directly related to your specific boots, but sturdier hiking/hunting boots in general, if they don't fit with the socks you want to use there is a good chance they will never fit- also remember that typically with strenuous hiking/hunting you will usually get some swelling of the feet

a stiff to semi-stiff boot that is slightly oversized can usually be made to work (adjusting socks, insoles, etc), undersized not so much imo

I would agree with mtwarden, test fit them with the same/similar socks that you intend to wear them with during normal use.

I have the boot on and with a pair of Smart Wool socks, they feel pretty dang good, except they are severely lacking in arch support so new insoles will be a must.
