Yes I know how they're designed. I think we're talking about different donuts. I was thinking you meant donuts from necking up Lapua brass where you'll have one either on inside or outside of case depending on how you size the case. No die can prevent that particular issue.
I’m talking the ring of brass at the base of the neck caused by most bushing dies.

I'd put money down that most of the loads folks are shooting would already be considered +P or +P+.

It is not referring to pressure. In this case the question is asking about the design of the throat. A +P throat (also a bore rider throat) is a certain design that reduces bullet engraving pressure so that overall peak pressure is slightly reduced for a given charge. You then can add more powder to get back up to peak pressure and the result is more velocity

Picked up the gun from the gunsmith today. Factory 22-250 tikka that was punched out to a 22 creed. Fluted barrel on the gun now is a benchmark 6 creed. Once load development is done with that I'll screw the 22 creed tube on and go to work. Really happy with how this turned out. Both barrels are 18" and make for a real nice package with the 5" can on the end. Maven rs 1.2 and stockys vg26074783E-0E37-481A-8494-95F2D9FB1C95.jpeg

I didn't see 22 Creedmoor on the Fierce website. I don't like the wild flutes on Horizon rifles. So I had this one built

They show 22CM in the Rival 24” 8” twist on the website. The rifles are for sale at several places now, all out of stock.

Gotcha didn't realize the were that long. Vandals are 18 I think. My next one will be 18 or 20. My Tikka is 22. If you find a fast twist 22-250 can just have it reamed.

Went out right before dark and shot a 10shot group prone with rear bag and Harris bi pod at 100 to check zero with the 80gr eldm at 3050fps peterson virgin brass 18” bbl 8.25lb gun, wind was 5mph5cl Measured 0.77” it was a little high. Didn’t have a cover on the can so after 7 shots it was getting hard to see.
Let it cool off in the fan for 5min then set it back up and dialed for 755 yards, wind was 3mph9cl now. It was pretty much dark now and I couldn’t see my 6” orange dot on the steel any more (March FMA-2 reticle 1/8moa floating dot) so I aimed at the bottom edge of the dot on the white and dialed 15moa Up .75moa L and sent 3. Group went for 1.85”/.23Moa.
This reamed out tikka barrel has shot 5 3shot groups at 755yards from 1.2-1.9” in decent conditions with no load development. I just loaded them up 1.5gr under pressure with h-1000 and jammed in the lands -.005” Been pretty happy with this build at about half the price of most customs. I have 90gr pointed SMK’s,62gr eld vt, and 52SMK’s, and 77tmks to shoot next.
Pic of the rifle is actually my tikka .233rem but they are identical builds besides the bolt fluting on the .223Rem below

That's awesome, I like that fluted bolt. I love my Tikka may be my preferred rifle from now on. I never tried mine that tight it seems to like .30 of with 75 eldms. Might try 80s next time I load some. Got some 77 tmks just haven't had the need to try anything. Pretty good for speed for 18 inch gun I never tried h1000 once I tried varget never looked back.
