Kind of a spin-off of the Rokslide Special thread.

@grfox92 made the comment that the RA would work for 95% of American hunters who shoot a box of cor lokts in 5 years.
While I agree with this, I think there are more people around here that shoot the RA a little more than 4 times a year and kill stuff on a regular basis.

So now we have the Rokslide 95. A rifle that does what 95% of the hunters need it do 95% of the time. 😁

Time to get the flimsy stock, zipper bolt, creepy triggered killing machines in one spot for the world to see.

Post up what you shoot and what you kill. This should be fun. 😄

Currently have (2) RAR in 5.56. One in kill mode. One in target mode.

Athlon scopes on both that have done well for me.
Killing one has a homemade Kydex cheek riser and modified factory stock.
“Target” model is in a Bravo that has the butt stock filled with sticky wheel weights and a chunk of steel in the fore end. About 15# the way it sits.

Thanks for showing up. Looks like the 308 shoots well for you.

I had one with an 18” barrel that shot blue box Federal 150’s really well.
It was actually the rifle I was shooting the first time I made a hit at 1k.
I was slinging prayers that day (completely wrong setup) but one was answered. 😃

The gun can absolutely shoot better, I've just been focused on a different rifle lately. Patiently waiting on a 6x SWFA before I burn a bunch powder in the RAP.

I bought the 6x in MOA when they had the scope/sun shade/rings deal for $219 for a 457. Should have bought a half dozen.
They’re good.

American Standard, one of the older versions with a 17-inch barrel in 223. I bonded a cheap pic rail to it, mounted an SWFA 6x, and glued on a Tourbon bolt knob. Together we’re a 1.3 MOA system with 73 ELD-Ms. 2023 was my first year with it, took whitetails from 30 yards to 386. I’m back and forth on upgrading the stock or replacing the rifle.

I sold my 308 RAP to a friend and he bought one of the Trybe chassis’s for it. They’ve went up since. He picked it up for around $270.
Really similar to the MDT LSS if you’re looking for a cheap upgrade and are willing to chance the vendor.

RA compact .223 Wylde in a Predator stock with AICS conversion. $15 riser, toubon grippy-ball, SWFA 6x in cheap Monstrum rings.

I had to have the barrel rechambered when i bought it. The throat was so short it was jamming factory ammo more than 0.120" into the lands! It was a accurate as all get out, but I wanted to load long heavies without blowing it up.

I'm planning on upgrading the stock. But I'm waiting to see if @Stockys will release a VG inlet for it......

@robtattoo. Isn’t that the one you took the belt sander to the bolt so it would work with AR mags?

Yes, but it's for the AICS mags. It still wouldn't work with AR. That needs an actual cutout machining into the bottom of the bolt.

One massive improvement I made though, was taking some 400, 800 & 2000 grit wet & dry & finally some fine grit restoration polish to the damn bolt. Now, it gliiiiiiides. It's almost Tikka smooth.

About 95% as smooth as a Tikka? 😁
Not to break the theme..... but better'n that!

Oh, and it's got a Timney trigger.

I don't want to actually sit & think how much I've sunk into this 'budget' rifle and you can't make me so ner-ner na ner-ner. 🤡

The one RA (RS95?) I have owned was a 300 blackout ranch. Super fun with the can on but I got lots of light primer strikes. The answer I got from Ruger was that 300 blackout factory ammo is loaded with harder primers to prevent slam fires in ARs, and that Ruger bolt gun firing pins are only sprung for use with standard primers.

It seemed to me that if a rifle says "300 Blackout" on the barrel, it should be designed to fire 300 Blackout factory ammo, right?

I mostly had problems with Aguila and StealTH ammo, and I think Hornady and Winchester fired 100%. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced light strikes with their RS95?

I'm extremely tempted to try a Gen2 in 300bo.

I’ve had (2) 6.5 Creedmoor, (2) 5.56 and (1) 308. No light primer strikes.
My 308 had some debris in the chamber when I first got it. Almost looked like sand/limestone.
My second 5.56 dented the brass when chambering and actually had a broken extractor. All before the first time I fired it.
LGS replaced that one with a new one.
