How warm is this boot? I want something, well, super warm. How would this compare to the Kenetrek ME 400 gram (i have a pair and I don't think they are super warm). How do they compare to pack boots?
I don't know why they don't put more insulation in those. I have some Kenetrek Mountain Extremes NI that I haven't used. I was thinking I'd just trade that in back to Kenetrek. They'll give a credit for the boots minus $50. I'll just pick up there ME 1000 grams. I would imagine that is much warmer then the Tibets.I don’t feel super warm is an appropriate name. They are warmer then my Nevada’s but my feet will get cold in them if I sit for several hours at 20 degrees or less. Good boots for cold weather moving.
The normal Lowa Tibet GTX boots do not have any 'added' insulation material in them. I have hunted in mine in single digit temps in deep snow, and as long as I am moving I have never gotten cold feet. Sitting still in those temps for long periods is a different story. I always wear Smart Wool merino socks and my feet stay dry, which I think plays a significant role.
