How warm is this boot? I want something, well, super warm. How would this compare to the Kenetrek ME 400 gram (i have a pair and I don't think they are super warm). How do they compare to pack boots?

I don’t feel super warm is an appropriate name. They are warmer then my Nevada’s but my feet will get cold in them if I sit for several hours at 20 degrees or less. Good boots for cold weather moving.

I don't know why they don't put more insulation in those. I have some Kenetrek Mountain Extremes NI that I haven't used. I was thinking I'd just trade that in back to Kenetrek. They'll give a credit for the boots minus $50. I'll just pick up there ME 1000 grams. I would imagine that is much warmer then the Tibets.

The normal Lowa Tibet GTX boots do not have any 'added' insulation material in them. I have hunted in mine in single digit temps in deep snow, and as long as I am moving I have never gotten cold feet. Sitting still in those temps for long periods is a different story. I always wear Smart Wool merino socks and my feet stay dry, which I think plays a significant role.

I have similar boots but they don't keep my feet warm in mid 20's on down, moving or not. 400 gram Kene's don't either.
