I see Cabelas has a sale on the older diamondback binoculars. A guy can get a set of 12x50 for around $145. Wondering how they compare to other entry level glass. Anybody have experience with these?

My fiance has a pair of 10x42s and they are pretty good glass during the day, and I guess I have forgotten what other sub-alpha glass is like in the evening and toward last light, but I tend to get a little disappointed with them when it starts to get darker.

I had a set of Zen Ray ED3s before upgrading to swaros, and I thought the ED3s were quite a bit better than the Diamondbacks, but they are also a little more expensive.

Its going to be hard to find something better for $145, but if you were paying retail for them, I think there are better binos out there than the diamondbacks.

Went ahead and pulled the trigger on these. Total price including shipping , 143.99. Seems like a good deal.
