Can anyone reccomend a better lightweight spotting scope setup than the one below? What do you use, What does it weigh? NO 50mm scopes allowed! I just need more FOV and zoom than a 50 allows. Here is what i came up with after much research.

Kowa TSN 601 with 20-60X eyepiece = 34.90 OZ
or for more high end optics. .
Kowa TSN 663 ED with 20-60X eyepiece =45.03OZ

Slik Carbon Fiber pro 624= 29 OZ

Really Right Stuff Ultralight Ballhead with quick release clamp = 7.8 OZ

Total weight:
With TSN601=71.7OZ =4.48lbs
With TSN 663=81.3OZ=5.08lbs

If you changed to a sirui t-025x and used the ball head that comes with it you'd save about 8 oz. I'm pretty happy with the ball head that comes with the t-025x, but I've also never used a really right stuff unit

You can also save a few ounces on that tripod by leaving the stem to the center post at home.

Ai have the following set up

Vortex Summit SS Tripod =28 ( added a short handle that adds 1 to base 1 oz)
KOWA 602 Spotting scope + Te9z 20x60 eye piece =33
TOTAL = 62 oz (3lbs 15oz)
