What are you finding sufficient for driving and removing lags in frozen and flinty ground?

My crappy 1/4" impact driver is about dead. I keep intending to switch over to using lags with my tents, and so I want to replace it with something that has enough torque for this. This use in mind, will I be undergunned with a decent 1/4" cordless impact driver, or am I better off going for bigger impact wrench?

Lmk what works for you and thanks in advance

Also get a heavier impact rated socket, the extra mass moving against the lag will help.

I use an 18v Makita. One time I depleted a battery on a trip when using 14" lag bolts in very hard ground. Fortunately I had a backup socket set to finish the job. I now take 2 batteries and use the 10" bolts when in hard packed rock.

I use my Dewalt 20v and carry a couple extra batteries. One is usually enough, but when it gets cold the batteries suffer. I use 3/8" 12" lags with a 9/16's head.
This exactly, only I bring some 8” lags too.
One battery does my 24 lags.
