I'd be in the same boat. I have 3 6xs and one 3-15. The 3-9 really is the better scope of the bunch though.
The 3-15 is a good scope for the money though.
I know 130 TMKs have a good reputation. From memory I’ve read where the Berger 130 hybrids/OTMs work decent keeping the velocity up. I would like to try the 130 ELDs myself but it’s likely wasted on deer for me.
No. I believe we've got a decent amount of evidence in this forum of 6mm working good within its velocity envelope regardless of what headstamp it's coming out of.
Was I supposed to quote something else?
Either the hydrostatic shock is there and has a meaningful difference on incapacitation or it doesn't. Until we can find a study measuring the differences energy (and by virtue hydrostatic shock) has on incapacitation it seems like a useless metric to get...
"Recommendations The FBI recommends that loads intended for self-defense and law enforcement applications meet a minimum penetration requirement of 12” in ballistic gelatin.[8] Maximizing ballistic pressure wave effects requires transferring maximum energy in a penetration distance that meets...
I'm no expert but it does sound pretty lean. Which can be good if your primary goal is to lose weight but you will have to get used to being a bit hungry at times.
With an efile they don’t even give you a physical copy of your stamp. If an agent had an issue with my digital copy on my phone I’d want them to get me the physical copy I paid for to me.
Some people (me) don’t like our hearing.
But really pistol/sbr doesn’t make a difference to me since I have both. Braces weren’t as good when I went an sbr route. If you don’t have or intend to run a suppressor on your HD gun I would agree 16” is simpler.
If I was wanting top tier, I’d buy an LMT.
If this is your first foray into ARs, I would instead recommend buying maybe a PSA Sabre for the rifle and a pistol to sbr, a case of magazines, legitimately good optics like aimpoint or nightforce, and a lot of ammo.
There are a lot of functioning...
Preface; I don't have any experience with 22 hornet. I'm a big 223 for big game advocate.
No, I would expect a mushroom from the soft lead and maybe an exit. It would be narrow wounding compared to the 87gr VMAX. Cast bullets are mainly a nostalgic thing for rimmed cartridges from my...
If it were me, I'd probably load some cast bullets to try and use it like I was bow hunting.
Also, I would like to get ahold of some 40gr gold dot bullets they load for the 5.7x28
If you listened to the podcast you’d realize the bear would be dead because you shot it in the face. A pmr30 gives you 30 opportunities to do so. My 9mm only gives me 13 opportunities.
If it were me I would probably just put another 6.5x55 barrel on it since you likely have components already.
If you don't have components, a prefit in 6 creed or 22 creed would be high on my list.
