Anyone have experience with Preferred Barrels? I'm thinking I'd like to replace the barrel. Scarring on an old walnut stock is just too pretty to let go :)
Hoping for a little help for those that know more than me (not a big lift!). I have a early to mid '90s Ruger M77 in 7mm Rem Mag. My gunsmith just informed me the barrel is shot out...pitted etc. My options are replace the barrel or replace the rifle. FWIW I currently have a pretty new Tikka...
I have an early model Lone Wolf (pre-Noviix) Alpha tree stand with an updated cushion on the seat. It's in fine shape. One hook strap included. (You would probably want to buy another strap for the versa button.) I'd prefer not to ship but if you can meet me between Loveland and Littleton...
I'm considering purchasing one of these two binos. Has anyone given a comparative look at these two? I did notice the Sig was 9oz heavier. I suspect that could get noticeable after a few days of hiking around the mountains. Anyway I'm curious about the glass, low-light performance, etc...
I have a Dryad riser that is quite narrow. I have rather small hands (size medium gloves) as well and like the Dryad grip. I also have a TradTech Titan riser. LOVE that riser! You have a choice in three different grips (low, med.,high). I really like the low. And they are fairly slim as...
+1 on RMSG. You may wish to look at some Wapiti bows. Keith Chastain's design supposedly work well for long draws (my handle should indicate I do not have personal experience!). If u go w a Chastain, 1) make sure the limbs are fast flight compatible-Keith makes both, and 2) make sure RMSG lets...
I'm looking to buy my first range finder. Would like to use it for both archery and rifle seasons. That is, I would like it to range from 10 yards to 800 yards (not reflective but actual rocks and deer) with drop compensation. Am I asking too much for one range finder? Is this a unicorn or does...
You are quite correct. My comment added nothing. I will obediently keep my mouth shut...despite owning around six Kifaru packs (i.e. I've spent enough coin to warrant at least an opinion) and spending a few years in this industry. Carry on.
I guess I'm either old school or just out of touch but dialing turrets just seems like one more thing to mess around with and be a distraction. Holdover marks on my scope seem much better to me. And I don't think the 7mm-08 is really a true long range round for killing critters anyway. Maybe...
Thanks Lightfoot!! Never seen the custom shop!! That looks great. To get to pick my own reticle is exactly what I was looking for. May have to pick my own finish too. Does anyone have any preferences or opinions on reticles? Anyone like drop compensating reticles or are they gimmicky?
Well, given it is a 7mm-08, I would guess 400 yds or so is the max responsible hunting range although I am new to the caliber. If I get quite comfortable with the rifle, maybe further. No 800+ shots unless it's at metal though!
Need a little help and education on a new scope. Just bought a Tikka Stainless Lite in 7mm-08. Now for a scope. It's been quite a while since i bought a rifle scope and then you just got a 3x9 and called it good. Now there are a lot more brands and power ranges. For this caliber and a rifle...
Great thoughts! I may go look at a Tikka today. In 7mm-08. But maybe I should consider the 270. Just didn't want to start getting too close to overlapping with my 7rem mag.
