Do the Thor’s have the same “rocking” style footbed/sole as the Nevada’s do?
I generally prefer about a 10” or so boot for the all around boot. When you get into snow, much, and what have you less chance of getting the legs wet and soaking down. Happy hunting!
Welcome from Lake County MN! Hoping to dabble more in the western bear hunting in coming years myself. Have a muzzy elk and rifle bear tag for CO this fall. Last time we hunted out there we didn't buy any bear tags and of course could have shot 3 or 4.....now we probably won't see any! Might...
Found this in a bind quarter roast I was cutting up for jerky. This was a finishing shot quartering toward me, almost in the chest but way off to one side. I've been really impressed with the copper since I started using it. Even this deer which was hit way back we were able to trail 1/2 mile...
I'm convinced it's something to do with the foam stuff they have in the sides, tongue, etc. They may not be insulated, but there's a lot of meat so to speak. I'm sure as I wear them more everything will get more mashed and the insulating properties will diminish. I also think the solid suede...
I bought a used pair of Nevada's uninsulated this fall in anticipation of next falls CO hunt. I've been testing them and am amazed at how warm they are if your moving a bit. When hiking in near zero temps my feet were staying warm. When not moving at all, they of course didn't fit the bill to...
Even with all the things I've been reading about the Frank winning most of the time.......it's very intriguing! Why do we see things and say to ourselves "I should never do that", only to proceed to do it......sometimes repeatedly!
Lots of places were completely overrun with other general...
I'm going to be trying some NEOS overshoes this winter if I can find a cheap pair. If I don't think they'll help enough for a long cold sit, I'll get some of the arctic shield style covers of make my own similar to the arctic shields. Happy hunting! furfishngmae
Yes both of those can be good attractants. Another one that is very underrated and used a lot in the midwest is beaver castor. EVERYTHING seems to be interested in beaver castor for some reason (well.....because everything loves eating beaver). Happy hunting! furfishngame
Absolutely! I know it can vary depending on the bear and location/food sources, but I've had one cut of bear meat that was less than desirable and it was a steak from a 426 lber. Had several other pieces of meat off that bear that were top shelf!
Bear liver is also the only liver I truly...
