I used Primos Photoform decoys the past 2 seasons. They are perfect for “run and gun” type of hunting. I like them because they are light and I can fold them up and place them in the game bag of my turkey vest. They look realistic too.
Ditching using the old handheld gps and will use iPhone with onX Hunt. Will have the handheld for backup as I worry about phone durability in the field.
I don’t hunt out west but I recommend checking out Crispi Wild Rock GTX (400g insulation) or Wild Rock GTX Plus (800g insulation). I picked up a pair this fall. Took no time to break in, very good ankle support, light, and comfortable.
Camp is in Driftwood in Cameron County. I fish the Sinnemahoning Creek quite a bit. I’m also familiar with Sartwell Creek as my wife’s cousins have a camp on Hanson Hollow Rd.
I would stick with the 7mm-08 especially if you have a proven load. I have had great success using a Rem 700 Mountain Rifle SS with Barnes 120 grain bullets.
Hi All,
FNG from sw PA. Hunt primarily deer, black bear, turkey, and waterfowl. Also, enjoy fly fishing for trout and spending time at my camp in the mountains of north central PA.
I have been using the Harvester Scorpion PT Gold 300 grain bullet with 100 grains of BH 209 in my Traditions Vortek. I shot a couple doe with it. Both less than 100 yds with complete pass through and good blood trails.
