    Archery Mule Deer SD

The badlands wilderness area is part of the national park so you can't hunt there. The SD GFP public hunting atlas found on their website is a good map of where you can hunt along with any access trails.

FL Wick or Kuiu Ultra Merino 120

Lol well as an update I went with the Wick. It has held up great so far and is very comfortable.

    South Dakota Pheasants

Pretty sure SD has the most CRP its ever had by a ways. But the loss of pasture, slews, weedy fence-lines and other 'junk' land that grew up to grass/weeds has certainly decreased. Every acre seems to be managed to make a profit more-so than it used to.

    South Dakota Pheasants

Yes that should be the case. The first couple of weekends there's people everywhere but it slows down after that and during the week.

    South Dakota Pheasants

I’d try to hunt at least a half hour away from the bigger towns as those seem to get hit harder than the pieces in the middle of nowhere from my experience. People have their different opinions on road hunting but it can be effective as well. All good advice on this thread

    South Dakota Pheasants

You can still be successful without a dog. And just a heads up, a lot of the CRP and CREP acres got hayed off so there may not be habitat where you think there will be before you show up

    South Dakota Pheasants

From what I've seen pheasant numbers look similar to last year, which was the best year we've had in a long time

    New Mexico 2B question

Spotty but if you get to a higher area you generally get cell service. I was able to find a place to camp that had cell service and every knob you would get on you would have good service.

FL Wick or Kuiu Ultra Merino 120

I looked into the Peleton and Gila but I'm worried about them smelling bad, especially if I wear it for a week straight without washing. I'll probably end up going with whichever brand I can find a deal on first. Thanks for the replies!

FL Wick or Kuiu Ultra Merino 120

Does anyone have experience with both of these? Looking at getting a long sleeve shirt primarily for early season elk hunting. How do they compare?

Through a raffle or on reservations. Not applying in the preference point pool like residents. But I guess technically yes

    Some Elk Trail Cam Pictures

Did you get to wrap a tag around one of them? And do you think it helped you find elk during the season? Regardless its just fun to see pics of big elk!

    SD non-resident archery cap

There won't even be a resident mountain goat season in SD in 23 or 24 because the numbers are so low. Sheep tags are about like winning the lottery and it takes at least 15 years to have a realistic shot at drawing an elk tag for an SD resident. There's not much of those species to share for...
