106 TAP for hunting?

Dang! thicker jacket and interlock ring! Didn't expect that. Kind of wish that wasn't the case but we'll see.

Might be a little more resistant to going poof when pushed.

Def shoulder shooting bullets! Military/LE bullets I guess, prob to get through windshields, and cinder blocks intact with lethal energy left over.

106tap 20" 6 dasher brux 1:8 31.5g varget average mv2720, 108-109 bergers are 2780-2790fps at same charge weight. Accuracy was not great for this rifle. Maybe you guys with faster twist will have better results.

4 of the "wild" bullets had ejector swipe at what I consider mild'ish charge weight.

This is used gel I was going to toss.

Reduced load, impact @1900fps
Permanent damage pretty minimal nearly pencil through, similar to 103eldx at the same velocity

Impact @2550fps

I would consider these as eldx bullets in an atip shape. Geussing they will need 21000fps to reliably expand.

I think this post saved me from more debt, was on the fence then saw this and decided to hold off. I already have plenty of 108 eld’s and no 6mm at the moment so that helped too. Hope they work well for all you guys that have bought em up. 👍

These 106's are a solid "bang for your buck" option just do a bit of sorting and keep velocity higher.

Saw the deal on Midway and then came looking for info after 1500 got ordered. I won't even have a 6mm until Monday. Worst case they get sold at a slight loss and I learn the rifle doesn't like them.

I’ll give these a go in a 240 Wby 7.5 twist. Have an easy shooting load with 108 ELDMs @ 3150, expect these may end up a bit faster but will let the groups dictate final velocity.

I have been planning on buying a .25-7prc barrel but if you guys get these 106's to shoot in faster twist rigs maybe I will go with a 6prc instead.

Must be the new Weatherby 307? If so how do you like it?

The 6 UM should provide the high impact velocities these might need for the better terminal performance!

No complaints on the action at all as it’s very smooth feeding. Added the Peak 44 20 MOA rail and the fit was absolutely square, didn’t even bed the rail. Liking this action better than my Christensen Arms.

Stock is ok and is a close fit around the barrel channel, adjustable cheek piece is a nice feature. Will need to keep an eye on barrel / stock contact when loaded up on a bipod, I’ve just been shooting off a rest during break-in and load development.

Right at 70 rounds down the spout and cleans up easily. Could do without the spiral fluting. Purchased 100 rounds of the Weatherby Select 100gr Hornady spire points as it was cheaper than buying just the brass. The factory loads run 3250 fps and shoot ~1.5 MOA. Using RL 26, have shot multiple groups less than MOA with 108 ELDMs. Brass seems of very good quality and the primer pockets are TIGHT after 2 firings.

Getting back on the thread, 1500 106’s should see the end of this 240 Wby barrel. May also run them in a Ruger Predator 6 Creed, believe the twist is 1:7.75

Can you elaborate more on what we’re looking at with your measurements?
