2021 Texas freeze - Impact to Nilgai

Putting this out there for anyone else keeping their finger on the pulse of Texas Nilgai.

Biologist Macey Ledbetter talking about his survey results after the 2021 freeze.
Long > Short only about 10% decline, which I was surprised (and happy) to hear.

I can't keep my years straight. Are you talking about the snowpocalypse year where temps were below zero for about a week? Or the more recent one where we got a fair bit of ice and extended low temps but not nearly as low?

I hunted close to the king a month or two after the snowpocalypse. We definitely saw some dead ones laying around but numbers were still quite high.
