I’ve been shooting a .270 wsm for a while now. I’m shooting the Sierra 175gr game kings and I cannot say enough about this cartridge and bullet combination. Out of a 25” barrel these bullets are pushing 3,000 fps and do amazing on all game types. The BC is fantastic as well, I just can’t understand why the PRC cartridges own the hype that’s been here all along in the .270 wsm.

You must have a fast twist barrel. I almost went with the 270 WSM but went 6.8 Western instead. You should be able to get a bit more speed with yours though. I agree the 270 WSM is a great cartridge, great down range performance without a ton of recoil. You kill anything yet with those 175 gr TGK's? I'm just starting to load for my 6.8 Western and have a bunch of those.

I’ve taken 1 mile deer at 360 yards and 1 bull elk at 450. One shot kills. Elk shot exited through the ribs. Mule deer shoulder stopped the bullet on the opposite shoulder.

Has anyone tried the 170 Bergers?
I don’t have a WSM, but I love my 270’s so I ordered a 26” 8 twist McGowen barrel just to shoot the Bergers. I will have to try the 175 TGK also.

The 110 TTSX are excellent on deer and shoot like a laser! I hammered my first mule deer at 370 yards with them.

Put me in the 270 wsm fan list! Mine is a Tikka t3 I bought in 2009. It’s been through a few stocks and scopes but it’s by far my most used big game rifle and I have a weird amount of faith in it. When the barrel goes I already have a 1-8 twist blank setting here waiting to go!

As far as bullets I have taken animals with a bunch of different ones but have kinda settled on the Sierra 140 gamechangers @3250fps.

I killed a bull this year with the 6.8 western and the 175gr game kings at 256yds. Bullet performed great, bull took a few steps then fell over. They shoot extremely well out of my xbolt.

Love the 270 wsm. Had an 8 twist put on kimber Montana before 6.8W came out. Shot
Matrix 165, berger 170, and now 170 nosler btip. Super accurate and hammers game. My son took it over and I now use 6.8W which is same but has factory loads with newer bullet offerings. Even before the high bc trend the 270 wsm is just a sweet all around package with 140s going 3200 fps

I’m a Barnes 110 gr TSX fan. Going to try Hornady 100gr GMX for comparison as they were closed out recently. Love the 3600 fps and absolutely flat trajectory. Kills like lightning and crazy deep penetration. Full length body penetration on Hogs and once on an Axis.

I shot this group with my wife 270wsm and the 140 game changers. It was the first load in the new work up so I don’t know how fast it is
