Both my .280s shoot the 140 gr Accubonds well. They have been my go-to for hunting. I decided to try and load up some 160 gr Accubonds in an effort to realize a potential elk load. I ended up with 58 gr of IMR 7828ssc, 20 thou off the lands. The rifles seem to like the load. I did not fool with seating depths as I just went off the same depth as the 140s, which do well. Surprisingly, the 160 gr groups were very close to where I have the 140s hitting. I didn't fudge with the dials, was just looking for the speeds and good 5-shot groups. 58 gr of 7828 gave me a 10 shot ES of 5 and respectable five-shot groups. I did not achieve the 3010 fps I was hoping for, but only reached 2925 with this load. Both rifles were 26" barreled Browning X-Bolts.

Looks like you found the load. I have a box of 160's I've been wanting to try in my 280 but haven't got around to it yet. I do not think any animal is going to notice the 85 FPS lacking in your load.

Recently came up same powder charge behind 160 grain sierra hpbt. I'm getting 2900 according to the magnetospeed out of a stock 22" Ruger 77. Hopefully it will my rifle will like the accubond if I ever draw an elk tag.
