Currently mine shoots 140 vld with 48.5 grains of H4350 and 156 EOL with 55 grains of H1000. Both shoot great but have a pile of 147 ELD and feel the need to dink around a bit this year. Have H4350, H1000, IMR4831 on hand. Anyone have any loads for the 147 ELD in the 6.5-284?

Mine is 23" and I am not trying to eek out the max velocity.

Yes and they work great. The 147 is a great killing bullet and I've had several kills less than 100 yards and the terminal performance was very lethal.
Lapua brass, retumbo and br 2 primers.

Finally got out and tried something new today. Using my H1000, I started at 55 and worked up to 56 with 140 berger vld. Out of the 23" barrel I was getting 2900 to 2940 in that charge range. The 55.5 gr 5 shot group was very consistent at 2920 fps and .75 moa. I may load up 10 at 55 and 10 at 55.5 to see if either is more consistent over 10 rounds.

My experience with the 140 vld has been so good that I guess I'll leave the 147 ELD on the shelf for now. But their day will come.

I have a 22" barrel coming for my wife. I hope I can get the 147 to work out.
