I’m thinking this would be a good round for a close range wolf/coyote AR cartridge when riding around in my SxS. My thinking is a hole larger than 223 with help with a blood trail in the woods. A Vortex Spitfire currently sits on my 223, so I’m not worried about long range precision shooting, although I think this combo will work to 300 yards should the opportunity present its self.

Should be great. Easy to get components are a bonus. I think Nosler Shooters Pro Shop has some 55gr 6mm bullets regularly for cheap though I'd probably lean toward 75-85grains.

I’ve got a black hole weaponry barrel in 6x45 and it really likes the Sierra 85 spitzer, super easy to load for I would say go for it!

I have a 6x45 in an AR and use it exactly as you describe. Shooting 70 grain Sierra Blitzking bullets at 2950 hit coyotes hard and has been pretty easy on fur if that matters to you. The 6x45 has been better at anchoring coyotes than my similarly configured rifle in 223 shooting 52 grain bullets. I have no experience with wolves so I can't comment on the effectiveness of the 6x45 on them.

Looks like finding a barrel is going to be difficult. Not really interested in going the custom route.
