I have read on here that the 88 ELDM is a round to build a rifle around. So what would you build using a standard bolt face?

Just ”built” a 1:7 22-250 because I already had dies and brass on hand. Creedmoor is a better choice, but couldn’t find components when I was ready to go.

The 88s at 3050 from the 22-250 is a LOT of fun and will be used for anything and everything up to deer.

.22-250 ai would be sweet. Otherwise a 22 creed would get my vote. .22-.243 is another screaming wildcat.
They AI is neat, but its essentially the same as the 22 creed. No reason to fireform if you can buy brass or resize 6 creed. 22 GT would be another option as well.

Do the 1/8 twist barrels consistently stabilize it? I didn’t realize Tikka made a 1/8 22-250. I only saw 1/14 on their site.

For hunting purposes, what velocity should I shoot for out of a 22 Creedmore? What would be the minimum velocity the 88 ELDM will reliably function at?

1,800’ish fps minimum. A 22 cm with a 20-22” barrel should be between 3,050-3,200 fps MV.

Should I have concerns about this projectile functioning reliably at the 3200 fps velocity. Just thinking of shoots at 100 yards or less.
