I am also going to run a shorter barrel. I am debating on 18” or 20”. I plan on running a suppressor. I reached out to Preferred for a twist rate recommendations and they referred me back to Hornady. I am leaning pretty heavily towards the 7.5 twist.

Go big, 16.5” but make sure your can can handle it

@Formidilosus or anyone else who reloads 22-250 with 88gr eldm. Any easy load recipe for this combo? Rifle is a Tikka t3x with a take off 8twist 22-250 barrel. Hoping for a proven load just like the 223Rem 77gr TMK/8208

I am looking forward to more info on them. My 1-8"gun shoots the 77gr TMKs very well but looking at the loong missile shape of those 88s... Not that I need anything else but ... er... well, I can't resist trying them.

When my barrel was on order I should have listened to @Formidilosus and changed the twist to 1:7" or at leas 1:7.5" but obviously I knew better.

I now would like to hear how they perform in other's 1:8" before ordering them.

The 88’s shoot very well from every 1-8” twist Tikka factory barrel I have seen (8-10). It’s definitely worth a try. I would be happy to send a box of them to you to try?

I'm using 35-37 grains of H4350 with good success....1/2-3/4 MOA give or take....seated just off the lands. Velocity a smidge over 3,000 in my 23" Wilson barrel (1:7) with no signs of pressure.

Start lower and work your way up, yada-yada. Nosler has factory load data for the fast-twist 22-250 if you're looking for a starting point. I should note that it's with their 85 HPBTs, but gives you some more data to consider.

Well I finally got my 22 Creed together. It’s a rechambered .223 Barrel finished at 18”. I will be running the 88’s. ( I went a little overboard with the nail polish )

7 twist rock creek chambered by Shaen(shooter71). Its throated extra long for the 95s.

Did you go with .150 freebore?

22 creedmoor with 26 inch barrel it will be a pain in the butt to carry but you’ll get the most velocity and it won’t be near as loud as 16.5
