Have been kicking around adding weight to my ruger preadtor 22-250 to pull its recoil down close to a 223 to use as a longish range practice rifle (think rokslide 223 special)

Found these 1/4 oz triangle weights at Walmart for less than a buck per bag. You tap them into place with needle nose pliers and they hold themselves in place. Not sure if they will come loose longer term but works great and can be easily removed when dialing in your rifle’s to balance

Duck decoy weights also work well. You can silicone over them to hold in place if needed. Dont forget to epoxy in a stud inside for your arca rail before you seal it up!

I used this wire (or something similar) to add weight to mine. If I remember correctly I added about a pound to fore end.
