First trip planned to Wyoming this Sept, one month out and I’ve turned/fractured my ankle. Ortho doc thinks I should be ok to make the trip with a brace. Thinking of purchasing a taller pair of boots for added support, currently wearing Salomon 4d gtx that are broken in. If I pick up a taller pair I won’t be able to break in the right one at all and only lightly the left one. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Kenetrek makes an orthopedic boot that is supposed to be pretty good, my friend got a prescription for them from his doctor and was able to get insurance to pay part of it.

This is great info. My dad had polio as a child and has a really week ankle. I will pass this along. I use kenetrek boots and love them. If I can find something like this for him it might get him in the woods a little more. Even with a brace he still has trouble getting around on uneven surfaces.
