Athlon or Maven

Athlon Midas 12x 50 vs. Maven C1 12x 42. I can get either pair for $300. I live in Wyoming and hunt here, so definitely am glassing the wide open spaces. Can't decide which one I need. Help!!!

I have an athlon ares spotter. I am very impressed with it. Seeing that I have looked through the C1 glass before on the binos, the glass is going to be very close, if not dang near identical. The body build is very similar as well.

I do believe the Ares 65mm spotter is 2 ounces lighter if you are ounce counting. You really cant go wrong with either one.


I had a razor hd spotter from vortex and I felt looking side by side at them that the ares did better than it with color and the CA. When looking at the moon at night, you could see yellowing around the edges with both spotters but the ares was more put together and slightly less blurry.
