Belt Pouches/Pockets pattern or tutorial

Anyone have a pattern or know of a tutorial for something similar to the belt pouches I see attached to hip belts?

Materials for this are pretty cheap so I just bought a few yards of cordura, #5 YKK zipper(I recommend #8), a few zipper pulls, three bar sliders and some 1" grosgrain. When I sewed mine up I *borrowed* the various pocket size dimensions off my packs manufacturers page, added seam allowances and started sewing.

My tips would be to add more seam allowance as you can trim inside pretty easily and to sew the zipper early on in your project, not last like i did. For the mounting the system I measured the distances between webbing loops and then marked that on the back of my pocket and tacked some 3 bar sliders onto some grosgrain then sewed that to the pocket. I did that four times and mounted it on the belt. It ended up okay. I plan on taking another stab at it one of these nights.

Why do you recommend #8 zippers over #5.

Number 5 feels too small to me, I think #8 has a sturdier feel.
