My beretta a400 xtreme plus took a swim over the weekend while waterfowl hunting. I disassembled it, dried everything out, cleaned and oiled it. My question is about the kick-off system in the stock. Does anyone know anything about it? Should I try and remove the recoil pad to get to it and dry it out, or leave it alone? Everything else about the gun is fine, but didn’t know what I should do for the kick-off system if anything….?
Any insight would be appreciated

My kick off system managed to bind up last year from silt and mud getting in it. If it still springs back into place don't worry about it. If you ever do need to dissasemble it berreta has an older you tube video of how to do it..

These guns are made to be in the water with the aqua-tech coatings even on internal components. I’ve used mine as a boat paddle at times. The only rust I’ve seen when disassembled is the butt pad screws. Tough guns!
