I am starting to hunt coyotes on my farm here in Alabama. Other than dead deer carcass or roadkill, please share your successful baits that are easy to obtain.
Road kill works as good as any I have used. I have a friend who uses chicken scraps from chicken restaurant and kills a LOT of coyotes. You will probably have the same issues I do with buzzards, coons, possums and foxes sharing in the clean-up. If you bait where you can visit the site every day or so you can cut the deer scraps into 1" cubes, scatter them around. That's what I do. Then use a driveway alarm ton alert you when the is "traffic" at the bait site.
Ive seen a lot of guys here in Maine use any type of old meat and they put some type of screen material over it and secure it to the ground, so they can run away with the bait, but instead have to work for it.
