This fall I’ll be going on a moose hunt in N. Alberta. It’ll be an 8-day hunt. While there is a lodge, the transit time from the lodge to the hunting grounds is over very rough terrain in an Argo, sometimes as much as 1.5 hours each way. I’d much prefer to do an 8-day remote camp and save my back from all that jarring.

I’m looking at the two tents I’ve mentioned above, but don’t have experience with either of them. I’m leaning towards the Guard Station 4 but it’s twice as much money as the Copper Spur. Would the Copper Spur be big enough for 8 days? I’ll be the only person living in it.

I had a copper spur. Good tent. Not a four season, bombproof shelter but it doesn’t have the cost or weight either. I would be happy in it for a week solo, as long as temps didnt make me want a stove.
