Has anyone had good luck with DWR treating their Black Ovis Anchor Point puffy? I’ve seen a lot of reviews and posts about the lack of DWR with this jacket. Was looking at Nikwax Down Proofing mine but wanted to see if there were better options.

I consider my puffy as something that shouldn't face wet conditions, though that could be tougher with their pants.

To answer your question, I'd be concerned about buying a bottle of your traditional DWR which has typically contained bioaccumulating PFAS known to have adverse health effects. Looks like Nikwax has been working on a safer solution that may not be available until the 2025 season: https://paddlingmag.com/paddling-bu...ry-applied-dwr-for-synthetic-outdoor-fabrics/

dont drink it and you will be fine.

Its in more then just a DWR application… Pizza boxes, Grease resistant paper, candy wrappers, carpet, upholstery, cleaning products, non-stick cookware, paints, varnishes, sealants etc

essentially it has a very long half life, California banned it so Mfg’er freaked out.
