K I’ve always went cheap and had fairly good luck. I’ve ran mostly keens for the last 8ish years for work and hunting. Well this year I had my first real hard pack out. My feet instantly hurt about 1/2 mile into the pack and I realized then and there it’s time to spend some cash on a nice boot. So here’s my requests. I want a comfortable boot both loaded and empty, waterproof yet breathes, 0 to little insulation, lightweight, 8”ish height. I’ve never had a stiff boot so
Can’t say if I’d like, my feet usually aren’t picky, never get blisters, size 12 usually fits, not wide nor narrow. Typical hunt/hike is 3 miles with a 30# pack. Max is maybe 10 miles a day. When packing out I stay below 100# total like to be closer to 60-70. I’m a bigger guy @ 240 so already have some weight.
